Sharing your code
How do I share my code with you?
You don't need to sort this out before submitting. Once a Launch Captain is assigned and payment is confirmed, they'll send you step-by-step instructions tailored to your setup — whether that's a private GitHub repo or something else. No GitHub account required.
Does it have to be on GitHub?
No. Your Launch Captain will work with whatever you have. If you built with Lovable or Bolt, there's a one-click export to GitHub from their dashboard. If your code is on your computer, your Captain will walk you through the options. You won't be on your own.
What if my code is messy or incomplete?
That's exactly the kind of codebase we exist for. Captains are used to reviewing AI-generated code that hasn't been cleaned up — half the value is catching the problems you haven't noticed yet.
I'm worried about sharing my idea. How is my IP protected?
Every Captain signs a non-disclosure agreement before seeing any customer code. Your code is used only to perform the audit, is never shared with anyone outside your Captain, and is not retained after the audit closes. We take this seriously because founders take it seriously.
Does AI read my code? Is that safe?
Yes — and we think being upfront about this matters. Your Captain uses Claude by Anthropic to assist with the analysis. Think of it this way: the Captain navigates, Claude rows the boat. The Captain decides what to look for, interprets what comes back, and writes every finding. Claude handles the heavy scanning. On the data side: Anthropic's API does not store your code or use it to train AI models. Your code passes through Claude transiently during analysis and is not retained.
Working with a Launch Captain
What is a Launch Captain?
A Launch Captain is a vetted senior developer who reviews your codebase and writes your audit report. They're experienced engineers — not interns, not automated tools. They use AI to help scan your code faster and more thoroughly, but every finding is read, interpreted, and written by a human who puts their name on the report.
How are Launch Captains vetted?
Launch Captains go through a technical review before they're approved. We look at their background, run a sample audit to assess quality, and check that they can write findings in plain English — not just identify problems but explain them clearly to someone non-technical.
Will I talk to my Captain directly?
Full App audits include a 30-minute live review call with your Captain after the report is delivered. Both tiers include an async Q&A window where you can ask follow-up questions. If something in the report isn't clear, your Captain will explain it.
What if I disagree with a finding?
That's what the Q&A window is for. If you think a finding is wrong or misses context, flag it. Captains are direct but they're not infallible — if they got something wrong, they'll say so.
The audit itself
What does the audit actually cover?
The automated report covers 25 checks across 8 categories: Security, Data Safety, Crash Resilience, Cost Safety, Maintainability, Observability, Scalability, and Performance. Captain review adds human judgment, infrastructure setup, and a 30-minute call on top of that.
What do I get at the end?
A plain-English report with a verdict (Launch-ready, Launch with fixes, or Do not launch), a score for each category, and a fix list — every issue comes with a copy-paste prompt you can take straight to your AI tool or developer. You're not just told what's wrong; you're given the starting point to fix it.
What if I don't understand the findings?
Every finding is written in plain English — no jargon, no assuming you know what a SQL injection is. If something still isn't clear, ask in the Q&A window. Full App audits also include a 30-minute live call.
What AI tools do you support?
All of them. We're tool-agnostic — Lovable, Bolt, Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, or any combination. The audit covers what the code does, not how it was generated.
What if my app needs a lot of work?
We'll tell you honestly — that's the whole point. You'll never get a watered-down report to protect anyone's feelings. If the scope is unusually large, your Captain will flag it upfront before work begins.
Pricing & payment
When do I pay?
Not at submission. Once you submit a request, a Captain reviews it and confirms the scope. We'll send a payment link within 1 business day — the audit begins after payment is confirmed.
What are the prices?
The full automated report is $29 — instant, all 25 checks, fix prompts included. Captain review starts at $299, delivered in 48 hours with a 30-minute call included. Larger or more complex codebases are quoted on request.
Do you offer refunds?
If a Captain can't complete your audit for any reason, you'll receive a full refund. If you're unsatisfied with the quality of the report, contact us — we'll make it right.
